UK oil services giant Wood Group announced Tuesday that it has cut its global workforce by a further 5,000 since the start of the year, including 1,000 layoffs in the UK, as part of cost reduction and efficiency efforts. The latest announcement means the company has cut headcount by 13% since December and 17% -- or around 6,500 based on a 38,000-strong workforce -- from June 2014.
