China Launches Crude Oil Price Index

China has launched its own so-called Xinhua Daqing crude oil price index in a move to avoid the risk of fluctuations in international crude oil prices. The index was launched on Monday by Xinhua (Daqing) International Petroleum Information Center, a joint venture of state-run news agency Xinhua and northeastern China's Daqing local municipal city government.
