Inpex Sells Ichthys Stake to CPC

Japanese explorer Inpex has reached an agreement with Taiwan's CPC for transferring a 2.625% stake in its operated Ichthys LNG project in offshore Western Australia to the Taiwanese state firm. CPC earlier signed a 15- year deal to buy 1.75 million tons/yr of LNG from the 8.4 million ton/yr Ichthys project, which is slated to start production by end-2016 (IOD Jan.16'12).
