Gazprom Seeks Japanese LNG Financing

Russia's natural gas giant Gazprom is looking at Japanese banks to secure project financing for its planned Vladivostok LNG plant, set for commissioning in 2018. "Japanese banks are the ones we are primarily looking at, while Japanese companies are among the potential participants in Vladivostok LNG," a Gazprom official told journalists on the sidelines of the Russian Petroleum and Gas Congress. Gazprom recently signed a memorandum of understanding with a Japanese consortium, Japan Far East Gas, for its participation in the Vladivostok project.
