EU to Ban Iran Oil Imports From Jul. 1

The European Union will ban imports of Iranian crude from Jul. 1 and impose other financial sanctions to tighten the US-led embargo of Iran over its nuclear program. The decision taken at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday further stoked tensions with Iran after more Western naval ships over the weekend sailed through the Strait of Hormuz into the Mideast Gulf.
