Bayfield Makes Trinidad Find

London-listed independent Bayfield Energy said Tuesday that it has made an oil and gas discovery with its first well on its Galeota license offshore Trinidad and Tobago. Bayfield’s EG8 well -- situated in shallow waters in the Columbus basin offshore southeastern Trinidad -- was drilled to a total depth of 2,479 meters and the company said that preliminary analysis of the discovery indicated 128 meters of hydrocarbon-bearing sands -- 107 meters is gas and 21 meters is oil.
