IEA, EIA and Opec All in Surprising Harmony on Demand Forecasts

The latest reports from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the US Energy Infor- mation Administration (EIA) and Opec show an unusual degree of consensus in their ex- pectations for demand growth - even though their viewpoints on overall oil market conditions remain at odds. The EIA is the most bullish on demand, projecting growth of 1.45 million b/d, or 1.7%, while the IEA is just slightly lower at 1.41 million b/d. As usual, Opec trails the others, but still sees sol- id growth of 1.23 million b/d in 2011 as a re- sult of continuing global economic recovery.
