UK gas output crashed by a record 23.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2011, while oil production slumped by 16.6%, according to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc). On the other hand, electricity produced from UK nuclear and wind/hydropower sources increased by 38.4% and a record 89.6%, respectively.
