US natural gas futures prices have, like crude oil prices, been on a wild ride recently. Last week, the market was whipsawed as focus shifted rapidly from falling gas-focused rig counts to rising production and falling demand, and then back to the plunging rig count and a brief "heatwave" in the eastern US.
