Russia's Novatek Eyes Nortgas

Russia's top independent gas producer, Novatek, is interested in buying Gazprom's controlling stake in domestic producer Nortgas, according to the Russian business daily Vedomosti, but the Russian gas giant has yet to decide if it wants to sell. Gazprom boss Alexei Miller has given the go-ahead for an independent valuation of the Nortgas holding, although the company not yet ready to cede control, the daily said Thursday.
