Total eyes Russian growth through Novatek

Moscow-French major Total anticipates Russia will continue to support its output growth despite delays to further raise its stake in key Russian partner Novatek and the sale of part of its stake in the Kharyaga oilfield, according to a senior Total official. Total plans to retain a 20% stake in Kharyaga and remains “completely satisfied” with its partnership with Novatek, Russia’s largest independent gas producer, with whom it is working in Yamal in Northern Russia, Michael Borrell, Senior Vice President, Europe and Central Asia told Platts.
