The US offshore drilling regulator onWednesday formally issued sanctions againstBP and the major contractors for the 2010 ex-plosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig thatkilled 11 workers and unleashed more than 4million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.The newly formed Bureau of Safety andEnvironmental Enforcement filed 15 “inci-dents of non-compliance” to the companies.It did not release details of how much thecompanies may face in fines.
