Ipic Moves on Fujairah Refinery

Abu Dhabi's International Petroleum Investment Co. (Ipic) said it has hired a contractor to begin early design work on a longstalled 200,000 b/d refinery in Fujairah, on the east coast, awarding the front-end engineering and design work to Shaw Stone & Webster. The estimated $3 billion plant, slated for completion in 2016, will be built near a 1.5 million b/d pipeline running from Habshan in Abu Dhabi to Fujairah's export terminals. Ipic said it "will be designed to process UAE crudes such as Murban, Upper Zakum and Dubai."
