Gastar Exploration has inked a $70 mil- lion joint venture with a subsidiary of a pri- vate South Korean investment firm to devel- op its gassy assets in the Marcellus Shale play in the northeastern US. Antinum Marcellus I, an affiliate of the in- vestment firm Atinum Partners Co., will pay Houston-based Gastar $30 million in cash up-front and another $40 million over time to cover a portion of future drilling, comple- tion and infrastructure costs.
