Petronas Mulls LNG Sites

Malaysian state Petronas is conducting a feasibility study to pinpoint the site of the country's first LNG receiving terminal. It will be built in peninsular Malaysia - where gas demand outruns domestic supply - next to a deepwater port and near existing gas pipelines, a source from Petronas Gas said Tuesday. The source added that the terminal will have an initial vaporizer capacity of 230 MMcf/d, while storage capacity will depend on factors such as the amount of land available. Petronas wants to collaborate with an established LNG terminal operator since it has no experience building a receiving facility
