SSE Goes Double Dutch

UK utility Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has received planning consent for a 350 MW wind farm in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. The 97-turbine "Breeveertieen II" project would be the biggest in Dutch waters - bigger than SSE's 260 MW West-Rijn project, which received government planning consent on Jan. 15 (IOD Jan.16,p8). SSE has now received planning permission to install more than 600 MW of offshore wind capacity in Dutch waters in less than two months.
