US’ Chemours Q1 net profit grows 18.6% on cost reduction

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Chemours reported an 18.6% year-on-year increase in first-quarter net profit to $51m, partly on cost reduction, the US titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer said late on Monday. “Lower average prices in Titanium Technologies and approximately $22m of unfavorable currency movements were partially offset by improved profitability in fluoroproducts and chemical solutions versus the prior-year quarter,” the company said.
