Suppliers, disappointedly, confirm that there has been limited progress towards a contract this week and Chinese buyers are in no hurry to conclude an agreement. Ports stocks are estimated in the range 1.7mn t-2mn t. This is the low season for domestic potash demand so this inventory level is considered ample. Any existing stocks will become overpriced once a new agreement is reached, which will be a concern for importers. Overland rail deliveries from Russia totalled close to 580,000t in the January-April 2016 period.
