Yuzhny price falls, but overall market appears stable

Demand appears to be picking up slightly in Asia, and Koch is understood to have sold a spot cargo of around 8,000t to BASF in China, which is expected to be discharged on the Clipper Orion in early-March. Meanwhile, Samsung Fine Chemicals is reportedly looking for a prompt spot cargo of 8,000t, possibly as a result of Koch’s sale to BASF. Meanwhile, two new spot sales were confrmed out of Yu- zhny this week; one was a cfr sale of 23,000t by Ameropa to Trammo for delivery to Toros in Turkey, and the second was a sale from NF Trading of around 12,000t for March-loading to Trammo. Prices of both cargoes have not been fully dis- closed but are understood to be equivalent to around $260- 270/t fob Yuzhny. In addition, two new small spot require- ments have emerged from Turkey this week, with Petkim and Ege Gubre looking for 3,000t and 2,000t respectively, for mid-March delivery.
