CF output rises as profits fall

CF Industries achieved record UAN production during the second quarter, but lower nitrogen prices and growing global and domestic capacity pressured profits down 87pc yearover- year to $47mn. CF produced a record 1.8mn st of UAN during the second quarter as a result of its new Donaldsonville, Louisiana, plant ramping up production. Net UAN sales fell by 9pc year-overyear to $370mn, however, as a result of declining prices.
