A second meeting took place between Uralkali and the Chinese buying consortium on Tuesday, 14th of January. There was a further exchange of views and it is rumoured that Uralkali adjusted its price down slightly from its first offer which in turn was thought to be around $330/t cfr. A third meeting is expected to take place next week and there are hopes that the Chinese will settle before the Chinese New Year, which in 2014 starts on 31 January. It will be the year of the Horse which is said to be characterised by making unremitting efforts to improve oneself!
