Union Fenosa Gas Resorts to International Arbitration Over the Halt of Feed Gas Supplies to the Damietta LNG Plant

Union Fenosa Gas (UFG), a joint venture between the Spanish company Union Fenosa and Eni of Italy, has submitted its dispute with the Egyptian authorities over the cessation of feed gas supplies to the gas liquefaction plant of Spanish-Egyptian Gas Company (Segas) in Damietta and the subsequent halt in exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Spain to international arbitration (AOG, 1 Nov., 2012). UFG has an 80% interest in Segas in association with Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC – 10%) and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS - 10%).
