While the war continues to rage in Yemen, the gas liquefaction plant of Yemen LNG, the biggest industrial project ever to have been undertaken in the country, has continued to operate normally up to now. But in a clear sign that the situation is deteriorating and uncertainty is growing, Yemen LNG announced on 14 February that it had halted all its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export operations and had evacuated most of its employees from the Balhaf site. At the same time, the company declared force majeure in view of the deterioration in the security situation in and around Balhaf.
