DEWA Awards a $68-Million Contract for a Substation to Serve the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a contract worth Dh 250 million ($68.1 million) for the construction of a new 400-kV substation to serve the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park at Seih Al Dahal. The substation will connect the phase 2 section of the solar park to the DEWA power grid. The second phase of the independent power project (IPP) entails the installation of facilities for the generation of 100 MW of electricity starting in the second quarter of 2017.
