Buying flurry fails to lift PRB prices

Interest picked up in the prompt market for 8,800 Btu/lb Powder River basin (PRB) coal, although this failed to raise prices over the week. There has been "a flurry" of buyers looking at coal for immediate delivery, and although mines are largely sold out for the balance of the year, the activity has been encouraging, one producer said.
