The pending collective bargaining agreement between Consol Energy and the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) covering miners would provide the largest wage increase in dollar terms the union's members have ever received. The tentative five-year agreement, which would take effect on 1 July 2011 if members approve it, includes wage increases totaling 6 dollars /hr over the life of the agreement.
