Shippers can expect delays moving coal along portions of Canadian National (CN) railway during the next few days. Engineers at the Class I railroad went on strike over the weekend after CN said it would impose new contract terms. The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference gave the Montreal- based company a required 72-hour strike notification on Nov. 25, and went on strike at 12:01 am local time on Nov. 28 without a resolution to contract negotiations. The union has been negotiating a new contract with CN and working without a formal agreement in place since the previous contract expired at the end of last year.
