The aerospace titanium alloy market has got off to a slow start as spot prices for commodity products show few signs of improvement from last year's soft market. "The supply chain doesn't seem to be supporting the build rate increases we're seeing at the OEMs (original equipment manufacturers)," one industry executive told AMM, citing strong commercial transport order backlogs for Chicago-based Boeing Co. and France's Airbus SAS.
