摘要

C. sativa cv. Judia currently corresponds in Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro region of Portugal to the highest production of chestnut. For this reason, eight different areas occupied with chestnut in this region were evaluated to determine which is the best Judia in terms of quality. The study began in October and all the samples were weighed. All the good chestnuts (without rot, wormy and doddering) were counted. Several parameters were only measured for the good chestnuts and for all of them, all the leaves were picked at the same height. In spite of the study focusing on the same cultivar, the results demonstrated significant differences among the areas under study.
