Six treatments, namely NAA 600 ppm and 800 ppm, flower bud thinning by hand, one leaf pair and two leaf pair shoot pruning and control, were carried out on guava cv. Sardar in Pantnagar, Uttaranchal, India in the first week of May, in an experiment conducted during 2002-03. All the treatments significantly reduced the rainy season crop and subsequently increased the winter season crop. Maximum yield was obtained during the rainy season with control followed by two leaf pair pruning. In the next winter season, all the treatments gave significantly higher yield than control. Maximum yield (88.00 kg/tree) was recorded with one leaf pair pruning during winter season. Overall yield during both the seasons was maximal in control (110 kg/tree) however, due to good quality fruit during winter season, higher income was obtained with the treated trees compared to control..
