A sudden global excess of anode-grade green petcoke hasaccelerated the decline in calcined petcoke prices, giving CPC suppliersmore leeway to meet aluminum smelter demands for cost cuts.Global CPC suppliers and smelter buyers met in February in Nashville,Tennessee, at the TMS annual conference to negotiate first-quarter andfirst-half contracts retroactively, and while little business was concluded,CPC offer levels fell noticeably over the course of the week.
