President-elect Donald Trump’s victory throws a lifeline tothe beleaguered US coal industry for at least four more years, as anumber of regulations are likely to be unwound, sources say.Chief among these is the Clean Power Plan, the Obamaadministration’s signature emissions program which has the potentialto shut as much as 80 GW, or 28%, of US coal-fired generation by2020, according to the US Energy Information Administration’s 2016Annual Energy Outlook.
