Talen abandons plans to burn Indonesian coal at Maryland power plants

Mainly due to price reasons, Talen Energy has decided not to incorporate Indonesian coal in the burn mix at the 977-MW Wagner and 399-MW Crane power plants operated by its Raven Power subsidiary in Maryland, a company spokesman said Thursday. Talen, an Allentown, Pennsylvania-based independent power producer, imported about 60,000 st of Indonesian coal in fall 2014 for test burns at the plants.
