Workers to call on FERC to investigate coal- and oil-fired plant retirement

Unionized workers at the 1,528-MW Brayton Point power plant in Massachusetts are set to ask the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to find that the station’s owner manipulated the ISO New England market — and artificially increased prices bid into ISO-New England’s ninth Forward Capacity Auction — by deciding to retire the facility by June 2017, attorneys for the employees said Tuesday.
