CAPP barge outperforms rail market, PRB up

Discounting a muted session for natural gas, both the Central Appalachian and the Powder River Basin markets traced mostly higher throughout the day Tuesday, as oil futures shot up following a Goldman Sachs report. CAPP rail (CSX) was slightly lower on the front end of the curve, but rose in similar proportions in the back half. June 2011 trades for CAPP barge were nil, and the Platts assessed price remained unchanged. The June contract has traded infrequently in recent sessions.
