Chongqing, China: UK energy firm BP Chemicals Investment, South Korean petrochemical major SK Global Chemical Co and China's state-owned energy and petrochemical giant Sinopec Sichuan Vinylon Works (Sinopec SVW) have formed a joint venture (JV) to build a integrated 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and acetic acid project in Chongquing, China. The CNY 7 billion (USD 1.11 billion) integrated complex is slated for complexion in 2015. The project, which will be completed in phases, is still pending approval from the Chinese government.
