Sinopec,BASF complete feasibility study for chemical project expansion

Beijing:China Petroleum & Chemical Corp(Sinopec) and its German partner BASF have completed a feasibility study on the expansion of a chemical joint project in Nanjing,in eastern China's Jiangsu province.Under the expansion plan first announced in July 2006,the companies plan to expand capacity at a steam cracker by 25 pet to around 750,000 metric tons of ethylene per year and to invest in additional downstream plants.The new facilities are expected to become operational this year.
