GLOBAL PALM OIL DEMAND HAS SPARKED A FOOD VERSUS FUEL DEBATE IN MALAYSIA

Investors who were intent on pumping yet more money into Malaysia's palm oil sector will have to sit on their hands a while longer.Palm oil is Malaysia's chosen feedstock for biodiesel production.But,in July,Malaysia's Ministry of Plantations Industries and Commodities enforced a blanket ban on issuing new biodiesel licenses until it can fathom out exactly how much the country can produce and if too much palm oil is being taken from the mouths of citizens.The answer to that question is expected to be made early next year,a government spokesperson said in an interview.
