Ethylene up on tight supply and demand

WITH INVENTORIES down sharply,and supply constrained by an outage at Huntsman's Port Arthur,Tex.,facility,ethylene prices are surging.Although the Huntsman fire has provided further impetus for price increases,ethylene spot prices were already increasing due to rising feedstock costs,says Merrill Lynch analyst Don Carson.The fire only exacerbated the situation further.
