Asian ethylene prices are soaring under the influence of growing concerns that the supply-demand balances willbecome tight. CFR North East Asia spot price of ethylene is currently assessed at US$1,080/MT with an increase ofabout US$80/MT from the previous week. The price is as much as US$220/MT higher than a month ago price level.Ethylene-naphtha cracking spread, which shows ethylene manufacturing margins, has widened to US$730/MT,up US$70/MT from a week ago.
