LANXESS IS stepping up its operations in China.Next year,the company will start up a compounding unit for Durethan (polyamide) and Pocan (polyester) semicrystalline plastics in Wuxi,China.Beginning in the first quarter of 2006,when the first section of the new facility starts up,Lanxess plans to produce roughly 20,000 tons of engineering plastics annually at the Lanxess Wuxi Chemicals Ltd.site.That capacity will be enlarged in stages as required.
