Drug regulatory system to be strengthened: Minister

The government has approved a scheme to strengthen the drug regulatory system for detecting distribution and marketing of spurious drugs in the country. Noting that Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 has also been amended and provisions made for setting up of special courts, Union Health Minister Mr. J.P. Nadda said 26 states and Union Territories have also set up designated special courts for trial of offences under the Act.
