Pharma exports, cross $10-bn milestone, but industry has miles to go

If early reports of its export performance are to be believed, India's pharma exports have crossed the $10-bn mark for the first time in the fiscal year ending March 2011. This is a smart recovery from the year before when the slump in the global economy impacted exports, which grew just 5%. According to Pharmexcil, the export promotion council for the industry, pharma exports out of India grew an impressive 15% in 2010-11 to reach a figure $10.3-bn.
