Haldia Petrochemicals to commission naphtha cracker expansion project

Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. (HPL) has reportedly decided to commission its long pending capacity expansion project, nicknamed 'Supermax'. The commissioning will take 75 days. HPL will shut down the naphtha cracker during the period. The project - taken up in 2006 with a targeted commissioning in October 2007 - will increase HPL's naphtha cracker's capacity by nearly 30% from 520,000-tpa to 670,000-tpa.
