Fertiliser Ministry report investigates reasons for increase in demand and prices of fertilisers in 2008-09

Mr. Mathew Kunnumkal, Additional Secretary, Department of Fertilisers (DoF) recently concluded an exhaustive investigation into issues behind the increase in demand for fertilisers and the unprecedented increase in subsidy burden in 2008-09. He has given a 37-page report, which not just analyses trends, but also provides prescriptions for dealing with such a crisis.
