Chambai Fertilizers seeks compensation for losses on fertiliser bonds

Chambai Fertilizers has joined the ranks of companies seeking compensation for losses incurred on holding on to fertiliser bonds.The company was given Rs.383 crores by way of bonds in lieu of subsidy.According to the company,due to market conditions and restrictive covenants on the bonds,it was unable to sell the bonds to generate cash required to sustain operations.
