After dithering for weeks,the Government has ultimately done the inevitable and pushed through small hikes in the prices of petrol,diesel and LPG.Action was inevitable-oil prices have resolutely stayed above the US130 per barrel mark and refined product marketing companies had warned of dire consequences - including serious curtailment of supply of products - if their demand for raising prices to at least part-cover their under-recoveries were not met.
