Acron, Rio Tinto form JV to develop Saskatchewan potash deposit

Acron (Velikiy Novgorod, Russia), a producer of fertilizers; and the Rio Tinto group have formed a joint venture to evaluate developing their jointly held potash properties in Saskatchewan and held their first board meeting at London last week, the companies have announced. "The size, quality, and temperature characteristics of our Albany project in particular position it as one of the best potash development opportunities in the world," says Arie Zuckerman, president of North Atlantic Potash, Acron's Canadian subsidiary.
