Improvement of transport engines produced by Chelyabinsk tractor works

Retrospective of Chelyabinsk Tractor Works history precedes the review of engines designed by TRANSDIESEL design office, intended to power military vehicles. Principal ways of engine improvement are determined with a view to meet needed power and fuel efficiency specifications. This article opens a series of publications covering historical aspects of military engine development at Chelyabinsk Tractor Works, new commercial engines, and lines of research work.
