摘要

In optical domain, analog-to-digital conversion which consists of sampling, quantization, and coding has been studied for more than twenty years, but only sampling has been developed. In this paper, we theoretically study a quantization scheme based on a fundamental but practical property of optical soliton. We also propose a method to do sampling and quantization simultaneously in optical domain and confirm its usefullness by numerical simulations.
